Elmer "Lee" Weaver

Elmer "Lee" Weaver, 67, of Galesburg, passed away at 1:50 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Labette Health in Parsons.

He was born July 27, 1950 in Waukegan, Illinois to Wayne Lamont and Cora Marie (Wulff) Weaver. He grew up in various parts of the country while his father was serving in the military. In 1980, the family moved to Chanute, Kansas where he lived until moving to Galesburg in 2006.

For many years, he worked as a truck driver for CETCO Trucking Company. He loved working on cars and motorcycles, boating, fishing, collecting train memorabilia, and shooting pool. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He and Sharon K. (Moore) Cooper were married February 20, 1997 in Chanute. She survives of the home.

Two Sons – Elmer Lee Weaver, Jr. and his wife, Janet, of St. Joseph, MO

Shelby Jay Weaver and his wife, Jackie, of St. Joseph, MO

Three Daughters – Linda Jones of St. Joseph, MO

Rhonda Cooper of Galesburg, KS

Crystal Todd and her husband, Travis, of Humboldt, KS

Eighteen Grandchildren

Nineteen Great-Grandchildren

One Sister - Ila Marie Thompson of Riverside, CA

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Billy Weaver; one daughter, Sherrie Woodard; three grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will hold a private Celebration of Life service at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.  These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
