Elmo Ellis Odaffer, 87, of Parsons, went to be with the Lord at 10:35 a.m., Monday, December 28, 2015 in the Emergency Room at Northwest Medical Center of Bentonville in Bentonville, Arkansas.
He was born June 8, 1928. As a young boy, Elmo attended school in the Iola area and later attended Parsons Junior College where he earned an Associate degree.
On July 6, 1950, he and Mary Imogene "Imo" Coover were married at the Evangelical United Brethren Church, now Faith United Methodist Church, in Parsons with the Rev. Walter Brant officiating.
During World War II, he was stationed in Alaska while serving in the United States Army. Upon returning to Parsons, Elmo and Imo ran Good Luck Fish Bait for over 50 years before retiring.
He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Parsons. He enjoyed fishing, sports, and in earlier years coaching church league baseball and basketball. He loved spending time with his family and attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events and school functions. During retirement, he and Imo enjoyed visiting relatives and going on many fishing trips.

One Brother – Merle Odaffer Wenatchee, WA
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Imogene "Imo" Odaffer, on August 10, 2013; one son, Rev. Victor E. Odaffer; one grandson, Tyler Odaffer; one great-granddaughter, Kamry Thompson; one brother, Willard Odaffer; and two sisters, Lu Glaze and Florence Kinney.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Faith United Methodist Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Friday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
