Esther Eloise (Stice) Hahn, 94, of Bartlett, passed away at 4:46 a.m., Sunday, April 28, 2019, at the Chetopa Manor Nursing Home.
She was born April 18, 1925, in their family home in Edna, Kansas, to Fred and Lureen (Reedy) Stice. Eloise grew up in Chetopa where she attended grade school and graduated from Chetopa High School.
On December 28, 1944, she and Wilbur Hahn were married in the Chetopa Methodist parsonage in Chetopa, Kansas. They farmed and ranched all their lives on their farm near Bartlett, Kansas. The couple celebrated 62 years of marriage prior to his death on January 18, 2007.
Eloise was a faithful member of the Bartlett United Methodist Church. She was also a Worthy Matron of the Order of The Eastern Star and a member of the Bartlett Co-op and Farm Bureau.
Survivors include:
One Son – Mike Hahn and his wife, Nancy, of rural Bartlett, KS
One Grandson – Brent Hahn and his wife, Amanda, of Decorah, IA
One Granddaughter – Dr. Melissa (Hahn) Price and her husband, J.T., of Kansas City, KS
Five Great-Grandchildren – William, Margaret and Henry Hahn; and Thomas and Michael Price
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by and infant daughter, Mary Lou Hahn; one brother, Marion Stice; one sister, Maurine Noble; and sister-in-law, Helen Hahn Stine.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Bartlett United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the church.
