Elsie I. Burnett

Elsie Irene Burnett, 84, of Galesburg, Kansas, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Saturday, May 1 2021 at the Oswego Health & Rehab Center where she had recently been admitted.

Elsie I. Frederick was born on January 10, 1937 in Plains, Kansas to Elmer Langford and Irene Elizabeth (Bond) Frederick. She grew up and attended school in Plains. She later lived in Meade and Fowler for several years before moving to Neosho County about 15 years ago and had lived here since.

Elsie loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her grandchildren. She enjoyed doing handcrafts, especially beadwork. She had attended the Galesburg Christian Church in the past.

Elsie was united in marriage to Robert L. Burnett. They had celebrated 34 years together.

Vickie Shimanek of Perry, Oklahoma

Daughter-in-Law: Colleen Thomas

Grandchildren: Dustin Frederick, Nathan Thomas, Zachary Wren, Kendra Wren, Cassandra Wren, Tanna Holler, Benjamin Frederick, Jason Frederick, Savanna Frederick, Zane Frederick and Jeremy Frederick

In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2021, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Parsons. Services are under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
