Emery Lea Larson

Emery Lea Larson, 87, of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away at 12:15 a.m., Thursday, May 7, 2015 at National Health Care in Joplin, Missouri. She was born June 10, 1927 in Chouteau, Oklahoma to Charles and Keller (Rabbit) Stirling. She grew up and attended school at Chouteau where she was a 1946 graduate of Chouteau High School. Following high school, she moved to Vinita, Oklahoma where she met her husband, Wayne C. Larson. They were married on June 29, 1947 in Columbus, Kansas. After marriage, they remained in Vinita until moving to Springfield,, Missouri in November of 1962. They then moved to Parsons in May of 1963 where she worked at Fred Ronald Manufacturing Company and Adventure Line Manufacturing Company. She then returned to work at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of the Hudson Creek Baptist Church in Miami, Oklahoma and Bell Telephone Pioneers. She also enjoyed bowling and crocheting. Survivors include: Two Sons – Wayne C. "Rick" Larson, Jr. and his wife, Julie Joplin, MO Doug Larson and his wife, Elizabeth Grove, OK One Daughter – Josie Fentress and her husband, Kip Grove, OK Daughter-in-law – Terry Larson Webb City, MO Eleven Grandchildren - Casey and Amy Baker, Kodi and Ben Muse, Angela Larson, Brandi and Nick Sauke, Brian Larson, Brandin and Stephanie Larson, Tyler and Brooke Powell, Megan Larson, Brett Larson, Alyssa and Lance Quick, and Kaitlyn Larson Eighteen Great-Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne C. Larson, on December 2, 1992; one son, Terry Larson, in 2008; one brother, three sisters, two daughters-in-law, Julie Larson and Susan Larson; and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
