Emmanuel T. Amadi, 52, of Parsons, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at The Medical Resort in Sugar Land, Texas.
He was born September 4, 1963 in Port Harcourt, Nigeria to Joseph and Cordelia (Okolonji) Amadi. He grew up in Nigeria until moving to the United States in the early 1980's.
Emmanuel lived in Parsons for several years where he worked as a registered nurse at Labette County Medical Center and the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center. He then moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he worked as a registered nurse at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
He was a Christian. He loved fishing.
He and Lisa Shea were married July 16, 1988. They later divorced.

Two Sisters – Maudline Smith Houston, TX
Cordelia Umolu Lagos, Nigeria
Survivors also include his extended American family of Jim and Iris Turner of Parsons, KS; and Dale McDaniel, of Dennis, KS, Kevin McDaniel, of Grandview, MO, Kay McDaniel-Banzet of Bonner Springs, MO, and Robyn McDaniel-Hobson, of Shawnee, KS who he considered as brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2016 at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
