Errol F. Garber, 91, formerly of Parsons, died at 8:45 p.m., Sunday, August 27, 2006 at the Meadowlark Hills Nursing Home in Manhattan, Kansas.

He was born on August 24, 1915 to Fred Albert and Luella May (Myers) Garber in Parsons, Kansas. He grew up and attended schools in Parsons graduating from Parsons High School in 1933. He spent four years in the navy during WWII serving in the construction battalion.

Following his discharge, he remained in Parsons until the 1950's at which time he moved to Lawrence where he was employed by Stokely Van Camp. In 1974, he retired, after moving to Council Grove. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. His memberships included the Masonic Lodge where he attained the 32nd Degree Scottish Rite.

On June 1, 1936 he married Vera Irene Manners in Parsons, Kansas. She preceded him in death on September 15, 1993. On April 12, 1997 he married Bernadine Caley. She preceded him in death on June 1, 2001.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Following cremation, the family held a private memorial service with burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
