Rural Parsons

Esther Mae (Hare) Lynch, 87, of rural Parsons, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at her home.

She was born August 14, 1931 in Conway Springs, Kansas to Robert Theodore and Ova Flora Mae (Benge) Hare. As a young girl, Esther grew up and attended rural schools in the Conway Springs area and in 1949 graduated from Conway Springs High School.

On March 18, 1950, she and Paul F. Lynch were married in Wichita, Kansas. Following marriage, they lived in the Peck, Wichita, El Dorado, and St. Paul, Kansas areas before moving to rural Parsons in 1966.

She attended St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul where she was a member of the Altar Society and volunteered as a babysitter during CCD classes. Through the years, Esther loved raising miniature donkeys. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, making doll clothes, raising flowers, and working as an election poll worker for many years. Esther also collected angels, stamps, and Precious Moments figurines.

Cassie Lynch of Parsons, KS

Nine Grandchildren

Seven Step-Grandchildren

Five Great-Grandchildren

Numerous Step-Great-Grandchildren

One Brother – James Hare and his wife, Betty, of Conway Springs, KS

One Sister – Dorothy Bauer of Scranton, AR

Sister-in-law – Katie Lynch of Wichita, KS

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lynch, Sr., on March 15, 2012; two brothers, Alfred Hare and Jesse Hare; and one sister, Ruth Cash.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2019 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9-11:00 a.m., on Monday, at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
