Euelia Lee Weidert Decow

Euelia Lee Weidert-DeCow, 82, of Galesburg, went to be with the Lord at 1:10 a.m., Monday, May 11, 2009, at Parsons Presbyterian Manor.

She was born May 4, 1927, in Parsons, Kansas, to Lester and Belva (Taylor) Dickerson. She grew up in Parsons where she graduated from Parsons High School and also attended Parsons Jr. College for one year.

On March 27, 1948, she and Charles Lee Weidert were married in Parsons. They moved northwest of Parsons in 1949 where they farmed and raised their family. He preceded her in death April 11, 1980.

She and John C. "J.C." DeCow were married July 4, 1981, in Chanute, Kansas. Through the years, she enjoyed assisting her husband in carpentry work.

In earlier years, she was an active member of the Otterbein United Brethren Church in Parsons. She enjoyed walking, ceramics, working jigsaw puzzles, and had served on the election board numerous years. She was a wonderful wife, a loving mother to her children, and adoring grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ed, Bill, Bob and Lester, Jr., Dickerson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2009, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery, rural Parsons.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
