Evelyn L. Cranor, 84, of Chetopa, died at 6:12 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2011, at Labette Health in Parsons.
She was born August 29, 1926, in Baldwin City, Kansas, to Ralph and Phyllis (Griffith) Kline. She grew up and attended schools in Baldwin City where she graduated high school.
On January 11, 1946, she married Elmer Cranor in Salisbury, Maryland, while he was serving in the United States Navy. Upon his discharge from the Navy, the couple moved to Edna where he was raised. Through the years, the couple farmed and raised livestock.
In the late 60's and early 70's, she had attended the First Baptist Church in Chetopa where she was a Sunday school teacher. She also had attended the First Baptist Church in Edna and later helped organize the Faith Baptist Church in Edna.
She was currently a member at the Grace Baptist Church in Altamont and also attended the Community Bible Church in Chetopa.
She was a member of the Home Demonstration Unit in Bartlett, enjoyed gardening, sewing, collecting antiques, cooking and was well known for her homemade pies.

Margie Zimmer Eudora, KS
She was preceded in death by one sister, twin daughters, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2011, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa. Burial will be in Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.,until service time.
