Evelyn J. Stine, 88, of Edna, died at 2:54 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, Kansas.
She was born in Coffeyville, Kansas to George A. Hill and Jennie (Martin) Hill. She grew up in the southwest Labette County area and graduated from Labette County High School.
She and Forrest Stine were married on May 10, 1942 in Joplin, Missouri. They made their home in Edna. She and her husband owned and operated Stine Feeders Supply for over forty years. Mr. Stine preceded her in death on August 31, 2004.
Later she was the City Clerk in Edna for several years.
Mrs. Stine was a member of the Edna United Methodist Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and served on the Edna Library board.

One Son – Mike Stine Edna, Kansas
Two daughters – Jan Rhodes and her husband Ron Edna, Kansas
Kay Morse and her husband John Sanibel, Florida
Seven Grandchildren: Kristi Lord and husband Raymond, Kerri Henderson and husband Gregg, Chad Stine and wife Audrey, Keli Rhodes, Jenni Morse, David Morse, Jacob Stine
Five great-grandchildren: Michael Schultz, Dakota Owen, Megan Henderson, Cole Henderson, Riley Stine
and one great-great-granddaughter Madison Owen.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, George A. Hill and one sister Nadine Winters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 20, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in Edna, Kansas. Burial will be in the North Edna Cemetery. Friends may call at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont after 1:00 p. m., Sunday.
