Fern Louise Sprague, 74, of Coffeyville, died at 3:35 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2010, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 15, 1935, in Cherokee Township, Montgomery County, Kansas, to John and Ruth (Duncan) Nickel. A lifetime area resident, she attended Valeda Grade School and later Labette County Community High School in Altamont.
Through the years she worked at a local nursing home in Caney, and Ted's Grill and a local motel in Coffeyville, before retiring in 1990.
She attended the River of Life Tabernacle in Coffeyville and in earlier years had attended the Community Bible Church in Chetopa. She enjoyed crocheting and arranging flowers.
She and Lewis Sprague were married April 20, 1954, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He survives of the home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ralph Nickel; and Robert's infant twin brother, Ronald Sprague.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett. The casket will remain closed.
