Florence Corinne Beeson, 87, a longtime Labette County resident, died at 7:40 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Labette Health in Parsons.
She was born January 9,1920, near Mound Valley, to Albert Yarbro and Mabel E. (Huff) Olmstead. She grew up and attended rural school near Mound Valley.
She and Ross Edwin Beeson were married November 6, 1937, in Oswego, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1967.
Following their marriage, they lived in Lawrence, Kansas and Colorado for a short time. They farmed in Labette County for many years. She also worked at LCCHS as a cook for 19 years.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, listening to gospel music and flowers, especially roses. She also loved doing humorous recitations. She was baptized in 1936 at the Mound Valley United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Angola United Methodist Church and charter member of the Angola Home Demonstration Unit.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2007, at the Angola United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery near Angola. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
