Florence E. "Flo" Turk, 84, of Altamont, died at 9:05 a.m., Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Labette Health.
She was born June 2, 1923, in Parsons, Kansas, to Leonard Clarence and Elise Agnes (Hartsook) Blevins. She grew up and attended schools in Parsons.
She worked at the Kansas Ordinance Plant, in Parsons, during the war before moving to Biloxi, Mississippi, where she lived for a time. She later moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she worked as a chief accountant for Winn-Dixie grocery chain and later retired from there. Upon retirement, she and her husband started T&T Air Conditioning Company.
She and Wayne E. Turk were married February 14, 1943, in Biloxi, Mississippi. He preceded her in death April 27, 1995.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Parsons. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling in several leagues, loved arts and crafts and was a true caregiver for numerous friends.

Nieces and Nephews – Benny Phillips, Joplin, MO; Sharon Limes, Olathe, KS; Charlotte Houck, Wichita, KS; Allen Phillips, Altamont, KS; and Anita Hibbs, Altamont, KS.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2008, at Crestview Cemetery in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2008, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
