Floyd E. "Pappy" Wolfe, 99, of Galesburg, died at 10:22, a.m., Monday,

August 27, 2018 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

He was born June 21, 1919 at Chanute, Kansas to Clarence Roy Wolfe and Lulu Belle (Coffin) Wolfe. He grew up and attended school in the rural Thayer, Kansas area. Floyd was married to Vera M. Thompson on May 25, 1946 at Huntsville, Arkansas. She passed away on May 27, 1994. Following their marriage, they lived in the rural Chanute area until moving to the Clovis, California area where he worked as a troubleshooter for the Minneapolis-Moline Tractor Company for ten years. In 1967 they returned to Kansas where they lived in Earlton until moving to Parsons in 1973. In 1977, they moved to Galesburg where he had lived since. Floyd worked as a tool and die maker for Tec-Tank in Parsons for over 12 years until he retired.

During World War II, he served in the United States Army as a Technical Sargent in the European Theater and was awarded the Purple Heart as well as several other awards.

Survivors include one son, Eddie Wolfe and his wife, Marsha of Galesburg, Kansas; two Daughters, Cindy Pefley and her husband, Steve of Cherryvale, Kansas and Peggy Wiegan and her husband, Tom of Appleton, Wisconsin; Thirteen Grandchildren; Twenty-Seven Great-Grandchildren; Seventeen Great-Great-Grandchildren; One Sister, Pauline Cramer of Bellevue, Ohio

In addition to his wife, Vera, he was preceded in death by one son, Floyd E. Wolfe, Jr.; one daughter, Billie Jo Wales; four brothers, Marvin, Harold, Edmond and Paul Wolfe and one sister, Martha Ventura.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons with Rev. Steve Pefley officiating. Burial will follow at the Earlton Cemetery in Earlton, Kansas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Faith Bible Church in Chanute and these may be left at or mailed to the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, Kansas 67357.
