The Reverend Thomas F. "Tom" Scaletty, 82, of Humboldt, Kansas, passed away at 1:29 p.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita.
He was born January 27, 1936 in Parsons, Kansas to Charles Joseph and Vivian Nadine (Ford) Scaletty. As a young boy, he grew up in Parsons where he attended St. Mary's Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Parsons High School. He then graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas where he attended on a golf and basketball scholarship. He then entered Conception Seminary College in Conception, Missouri. He was ordained a Roman Catholic priest for the Wichita Diocese on May 25, 1963.
Fr. Scaletty began his vocation at St. Teresa Parish in Hutchinson and served several parishes throughout his career including St. Patrick Catholic Church in Chanute and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Humboldt until retiring. In earlier years, he taught Religion at St. Teresa High School in Hutchinson and later at Kapaun-Mt. Carmel High School in Wichita. He also served in various capacities in the Chancery office in Wichita including Assistant Chancellor.
He especially enjoyed the game of golf and once played in a tournament with Arnold Palmer. He had won numerous golf tournaments in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. He also loved his pet Boxers.

Sister-in-law – Pat Scaletty of Lawrence, KS
Fifteen Nieces and Nephews
Numerous Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews
Close Friends – Sandy and Nick Alonzo and Chris and Jean Flores
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nadine Scaletty; and two brothers, James Edward "Jim" Scaletty and John Joseph Scaletty.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Parsons. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, at the church. The family will receive friends at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, immediately following the rosary, at the church.
