Frances L. Ashen, 96, of Parsons, passed away at 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 4, 2023, at Labette Health.
Frances Lee Barrow was born on June 28, 1927, to William and Maude (Holland) Barrow in Cairo, Illinois.
She married Warren E. Ashen. For a time, the couple lived in California, where they owned and operated a recreational vehicle supply company named FranCo. She was a licensed beautician, but spent most of her years devoted to raising her family.
In earlier years, she attended the Baptist Church in Anderson, Missouri.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling, golfing and watching television. In her spare time, she also liked to use her pilot's license as a navigator.
Survivors include:
One son – Michael "Mike" Ashen and his wife, Daquita, of Parsons, Kansas
Three daughters – Mary Lee Larson and her husband, Kit, of Hayden, Idaho
Gloria Ann Ashen of Columbus, Kansas
Phyllis "Pat" Adams of Kansas City, Missouri
Nine grandchildren
Numerous great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband; and one brother, Bill Barrow.
Cremation is under the care of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
