Frances "Gail" Spillman

Frances "Gail" (White) Spillman, 65, of Parsons, caught a flight for glory at 4:40 a.m., Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Elmhaven East Nursing Home in Parsons.

She was born February 18, 1952 in Independence, Kansas to James Francis and Alma Pearl (Hinthorn) White. She grew up and attended school in Independence where she graduated in 1970 from Independence High School.

On April 24, 1971, she and John Spillman were married in Independence. Following marriage, they moved to Parsons where she worked at several jobs through the years until her husband became ill and she determinedly cared for him at home until his death on February 4, 2006. For many years, she was employed as an administrative assistant at SKIL in Parsons and was extremely proud of the work she did while working there.

She loved her family and adopted family very much and enjoyed spending time with them and sharing her faith with anyone she met. Gail loved to crochet and made numerous blankets for the Ronald McDonald House and hospice. For over 20 years, she was a proud supporter of Paralyzed Veterans. Gail will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

One Daughter – Janet Ritzert and her husband, Dale            Erie, KS

One Grandson – James L. Davis                                            Parsons, KS

One Sister – Elaine Kimzey and her husband, Steve             rural Elk City, KS

Nephew – Joshua Kimzey                                                      rural Elk City, KS

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Jennifer Davis, on July 16, 2009.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
