Fred S. Rinne, 86, of Sycamore, Kansas, died at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, January 30, 2011, at his home following a brief illness.
He was born June 2, 1924, in Kinsley, Kansas, to Theodore Henry and Dora Lucille (Stapleton) Rinne. As a young boy, he grew up and attended school in Kinsley and was a 1942 graduate of Kinsley High School. He later earned an Associate degree at Barton County Community College in Great Bend.
He and Rose Mary Hessman were married July 20, 1945, in Dodge City, Kansas. During World War II, he took great pride in working for two different aircraft companies that built planes that were flown during the war.
For a time, the couple lived in Dodge City, Kansas, before moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1953. In 1959, they returned to Kinsley before moving to rural Labette County in Southeast Kansas in 1961.
In 1972, he began working for Mid America Nursing Homes in nursing home administration in Hardtner, St. John and Toronto, Kansas. In the 1970's, the family returned to Southeast Kansas where Mr. Rinne retired during the mid 1980's. In 2004, the couple moved to their home in Sycamore where they have lived since.
He enjoyed carpentry and had built 11 homes for members of his family. Mr. Rinne loved his Lord, his church, and through the years especially enjoyed teaching Sunday school and studying Theology.

Twelve Great-Grandchildren
One Great-Great-Granddaughter
One Brother – Wayne Rinne of Quincy, IL
He was preceded in death by three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Harmony Grove Cemetery near Dennis. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
