Freddie D. Fox, 79, of rural McCune, passed away surrounded by his family at 9:58 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2017 at his home.
He was born July 18, 1937 in McCune, Kansas to Granville and Mary (Mack) Fox. He grew up and attended school in McCune and was a 1956 graduate of McCune High School.
Following high school, he worked one year at Boeing in Wichita. He then returned to McCune where he farmed and raised cattle. In 2001, he received the Century Farm Award and was the recipient of the Cherokee County Soil Conservation Award.
He was a member of the McCune United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to Grand Lake, and farming.
On August 23, 1959, he and Ramona M. Newman were married in Enid, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.

Eight Grandchildren – Kassidy Fox, Kyle Neblett, Miranda Dillon, Kaylena Atwood, Tyler Brake, Kelsey Brown, Trey Brake, and Karley Brake
Ten Great-Grandchildren – Autumn, Tymber, and Skyler Neblett; Kynlee, Bailey, and Braylon Dillon; Hailie, Payton, and Blaze Atwood; and Avery Brake
Special Nephew – John Fox
Great- Nieces - Chelsea and Chaney
Great-Great-Nephew - William
Special Family Friends – Larry and Diana Dunnick and their daughter, Caitlin
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles and Kenneth Fox.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in McCune Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
