Frieda Emma Bussman, 87, formerly of the Mound Valley and Edna area, passed away Sunday evening, September 9, 2007, in Arlington, Texas.
She was born December 15, 1919, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Paul and Elise C. (Lienemann) Schuetz. She attended the Coffeyville schools, graduating from high school in 1937 and Coffeyville Jr. College in 1939. She taught her first year of school at Richland rural school near Angola. After attending St. John's Lutheran College in Winfield, Kansas, she taught in Lutheran Parochial schools for the next five years.
On June 2, 1946, she married James Orville Bussman at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Kansas. She traveled with her husband for sevseral years in his work before moving to a farm near Angola in 1949. Together, they raised their family and operated a dairy farm for over 20 years until retiring in 1981. They enjoyed their retirement, traveling to visit relatives and friends, until Orville's death on September 12, 1995. Freida remained on the farm until she moved to north Texas in January, 2004 to live with her daughter and family.
She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Coffeyville, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, Pauline Kolb, and three infant children.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 15, 2007 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Coffeyville (506 West 9th St.). Burial will be in Richland Cemetery near Angola, Kansas.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
