Gail M. Gallo

Gail M. Gallo, 72, of Parsons, passed away at 9:05 a.m., Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at ElmHaven East in Parsons.

Gail Marie Wolverton was born on August 31, 1951, to H. Leon and Henrietta (Blackburn) Wolverton in Parsons.  She grew up and attended school in Parsons, graduating from Parsons Senior High School in 1969.  In 1971, Gail earned an Associate's degree from Labette Community Junior College and later earned a Bachelor's degree.

She began her working career at Sunset Nursing Home.  Over the years, she also worked at IMI Business Forms – Flesh, Friendly's Market, and in the Pete's deli.

Known for her selflessness and putting others first, Gail's life centered around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed any kind of sports, including fishing and hunting, and loved taking trips to Treasure Lake in Branson.

On December 18, 1971, Gail and Gary Gallo were united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parsons.  Gary preceded her in death on January 7, 2016.

Survivors include:

One daughter – Misty Cruse and her husband, Jason

Three grandchildren – Jordan Hickman, Anastasia Cruse, and Dierks Cruse

Three great-grandchildren – Kinzie, Ava, and Ella

One sister – Gerry Wolverton

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary Gallo; one son, Gary Gallo, II; two brothers, Rollie Wolverton and Ricky Wolverton; her paternal grandparents, Jack and Irene (Scott) Wolverton; and her maternal grandparents, Jesse and Elsie (Fox) Blackburn

There will be a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.  Casual dress is requested.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
