Garry W. Thomas, 69, of Parsons, passed away at 10:06 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2016 at his home.
He was born October 21, 1947 in Hominy, Oklahoma to Louie Ellis and Iva Josephine (Anderson) Thomas. As a young boy, he grew up and attended schools in Chelsea, Tulsa, and Vinita, Oklahoma while being raised by his mother and stepfather, J.D. Rathfon.
While serving in the United States Army, Garry was stationed in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge, he lived in Vinita, Oklahoma until moving to Parsons in 1970.
He and Sandra "Sandy" K. English were married September 6, 1971 in Harrison, Arkansas. While living in Parsons, he worked at Princess Homes, Scaletty Heating and Cooling, and was owner and operator of Thomas Construction Company for 42 years.
He was a member of the Sunflower CBers and the Lucky B CB Club. Garry enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing, gardening, antiquing, traveling, hiking, exploring caves, walking, and tinkering. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Chelsea Cemetery in Chelsea, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
