Gary Allen "Peanuts" Stevenson, 70, of rural Edna, died at 2:10 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Chetopa Manor Nursing Home.
He was born June 14, 1941, in rural Altamont, Kansas, to Clarence and Irene (Patterson) Stevenson. He was a lifelong resident of the family farm and raised cattle.
As a young man he pitched baseball. He enjoyed watching baseball on television, had a great love for horses, and especially enjoyed watching horse races.
Survivors include:
One Brother – Dale Stevenson rural Edna, KS
One Niece – Lois Looney
One Nephew – Robert Stevenson
Three Great-Nieces – Molly Stevenson, Rachel Stevenson and Shannon Looney
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 7, 2011, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
