Geneva Williams, 83, of Chetopa, passed away at 6:25 a.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Chetopa Manor.
She was born February 7, 1933 in Twila, Kentucky to Jesse James and Mary Marie (Vaughn) Crigger. As a young girl, she grew up in Twila where she attended school.
On November 20, 1948, she and Leland L. Williams were married in Kansas City, Missouri. While living in Kansas City, she worked at National Bellas Hess and Rudy Patrick Seed Company. She then worked as an electrician at the Safeway cereal mill in Bonner Springs until retiring. In 2011, she moved to Chetopa where she had lived since.
She was a Jehovah's Witness. Geneva enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always proud of being from Kentucky and being a coal miner's daughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Williams, in 1983; one son, Jerry Williams; one brother, Harry Crigger; and four sisters, Freda Crigger, Audrey Satomi, Juanita Simpson, and Winnifred Snow.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa. No services are planned at this time.
