George Pritchard, 90, of Edna, passed away at 11:08 a.m., Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his home.
He was born on August 30, 1929 to William B. and Eva B. (Cooper) Pritchard on the family farm west of Valeda, Kansas. He and his family moved to Missouri for a short time before returning to the Edna area in 1941. He grew up and attended schools in Edna, graduating from Edna High School in 1948. He was a member of the United States Army Reserves. While in school he met the love of his life, Erma "Nadine" Blevins. They were married on September 13, 1952 at the Assembly of God parsonage in Edna. She preceded him in death on their 65 th wedding anniversary.
George first began working for Parksburg Rig and Reel Company and later worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1992. He also farmed throughout his working years. After retiring, he enjoyed woodworking and farmed part time for Dwight Cooper. He was also a member of the Crosstimbers Community Church in rural Edna. In 2016 he sold the farm and moved to the senior apartments in Edna.

Karen Lynn Knight and her husband, William, of Overland Park, Kansas
Brenda Pool and her husband, Timothy Aaron, of Parsons, Kansas
Three grandsons – Michael Maxson, Derek Pritchard, Kyle Pritchard
Seven Granddaughters – Rebecca Willis, Ashley Pritchard-Kelsey, Meghan Knight, Mija Knight, Monica Knight, Morgan Pool , and Hayden Pool.
Three great-grandsons – Maguire Maxson, Monroe Maxson, and Maxson Willis
Two Great-granddaughters – Demi Pritchard and Dotti Pritchard
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son Larry.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the Crosstimbers Community Church in rural Edna. Burial will follow in the Edna Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to the Crosstimbers Community Church.
