George W. Ramsey, 75, of Parsons, died at 3:12 a.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Labette Health.
He was born July 10, 1935, in Mound Valley, Kansas, to John S. and Della (Davis) Ramsey. As a young boy, he grew up in Mound Valley where he attended school.
Through the years he worked at the Katy Railroad, Persky Iron and Metal in Independence for 10 years, and Parsons Cold Storage. In 1965, he began working for the sanitation company owned by Harry Price and later James Alderman. In 1974, the City of Parsons took over operations of the Sanitation Department where Mr. Ramsey served as foreman before retiring in 1994.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and computers.
He marred Nelsie J. Davis in 1965 in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by four sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Mound Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons after 1:00 p.m., on Friday.
