George E. Schoenhofer, 95, of St. Paul, died at 1:55 a.m., Sunday, January 13, 2008, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.
He was born November 5, 1912, in Walnut, Kansas, to George J. and Sophia (VanLeeuwen) Schoenhofer. As a young boy, he grew up and attended schools in Walnut. He later worked in a saw mill there with his father before moving to St. Paul in 1937 where he farmed and had a dairy.
He and Mary L. Fowler were married November 25, 1931, in St. Paul. She preceded him in death June 10, 1998.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing and traveling. He was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Doris Bennett and her husband, Jerold, Wichita, KS;
Pat Moore, Parsons, KS;
Joan Unruh and her husband, Terry, Chandler, AZ;
Thirty-Eight Grandchildren,

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and an infant son.
Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. The parish Rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the church.
