Geraldine Naomi Brady

Geraldine N. Brady, 90, of Parsons, died at 9:42 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center in Parsons.

She was born June 28, 1916 in Porter, Oklahoma to Thomas Woodson "T.W." McKnight, Sr. and Lora (Ricketts) McKnight. As an infant, she moved with her family to Parsons where she grew up and attended schools. She was a graduate of Parsons High School, Parsons Jr. College and had earned a Master's degree. She later moved to Topeka, Kansas, where she met her husband while working at the State Capitol Building. While her husband was employed by the YMCA, they lived in various cities throughout the Midwest until moving to Denver in 1954. While living in Denver, she worked for the United States government until her retirement, was on the Civil Service Commission and was active in numerous civic affairs.

She was a member of the Shorter Community A.M.E. Church in Denver. As a young girl, she was a member of the Hamilton Chapel United Methodist Church in Parsons. She served on the Denver Police Commission and Board of Nursing.

She and Ralph W. Brady were married December 1938 in Parsons. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1959.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and five sisters.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the Fairmount Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. Friends may call at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons after 9:00 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2007.
