Gerda Geraldine Stillwell, 85, of Oswego, died at 2:27 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Chetopa Manor Nursing Home in Chetopa, Kansas following a lengthy illness.
She was born February 27, 1927 in Wood, South Dakota to Otto and Margaret (Woehl) Herman. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Wood.
She and Woodrow Dick Stillwell were married November 16, 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska. Following marriage, they lived in Omaha where she worked 18 years as a certified health unit coordinator at Nebraska Methodist Hospital.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Master in Omaha and had served as Girl Scout leader and troop organizer for 12 years. She was an avid walker and enjoyed being outdoors. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, neighbors, and dog, Katie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Stillwell, on March 26, 1999; four brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2012 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Humane Society. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
An invitation is extended to join the family after services for a light lunch and refreshments at the home of Vicki Neu, 6902 Pinkney Street, in Omaha.
