Gladys M. Lake, 85, of Parsons, died early Sunday, June 17, 2012, at her home.
She was born March 28, 1927, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Delmar and Mary (Colts) Hand. She grew up in Newkirk, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Newkirk High School.
She and Roy Lake were married August 29, 1947, in Newkirk where they lived two years before moving to Wichita. In the early 1950s, the couple moved to Parsons where she had lived since.
She was a member of the Parsons Foursquare Church. She enjoyed reading and collecting angels and, in earlier years, sewing.
Survivors include:
One Son – Rocky Lake and his wife, Shari Parsons, KS
Four Grandchildren
One Great-Grandchild
One Sister – Louise Ellis Council Grove, OK
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lake, on February 20, 2006; one sister, Betty Peters; and one son, Charlie Lake, in June of 2006.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2012, at the Parsons Foursquare Church where the family will receive friends immediately following the service.
