Gladys M. "Weeny" Caywood, 84, of Parsons, passed away Monday afternoon, December 7, 2015 at her home.
She was born May 18, 1931 in St. Paul, Kansas to William Antone and Grace Cozette (Richardson) Madl. As a young girl, Gladys grew up and attended school in St. Paul.
She and George Myers were married. They later divorced. On November 26, 1960, she and Harold Donald "Don" Caywood were married in Miami, Oklahoma. On February 14, 1961, they exchanged traditional Catholic vows at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. The couple had recently celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Prior to marriage, Gladys worked at Mercy Hospital and Fred Ronald Manufacturing Company, both in Parsons. She later worked as a licensed daycare provider for many years in Parsons where her love for children was reflected on a daily basis.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella. Gladys enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, sewing, cooking, and gifting handmade quilts to family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
