Glen E. "Fuzz" Heady

July 11, 1935 — February 7, 2011

Glen E. "Fuzz" Heady, 75, of rural Parsons, died at 11:16 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2011, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He had been in failing health but death was unexpected.

He was born July 11, 1935, in rural Erie, Kansas, to Marvin and Zola Frances (Paul) Heady. He grew up and attended grade school at the former Sunnyside School and was a 1953 graduate of Parsons High School.

In the 1950's, he served in the U.S. Army. Most of his life, he worked as a self-employed over-the-road truck driver and raised Gelbvieh cattle.

In earlier years, he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and loved his dog, Sadie Lady, a miniature pincher.

He and Donna (Schneider) DeCow were married November 21, 1980, in Independence, Kansas. She preceded him in death February 4, 2009.

Survivors include:
One Sister – Peggy Gatton Parsons, KS
Two Brothers – Paul Heady and wife, Maria rural Parsons, KS
Don Heady rural Parsons, KS
He was especially close to his numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Harold Heady, in 2003.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery near Erie. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
