Glenda J. "Jeannie" Beckwith, 69, of Parsons, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at her home. Her death was unexpected.

Glenda Jean Shouse was born on February 21, 1951, to Glen Dale and Rosa Lee (Rehmert) Shouse in rural McCune. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in the rural McCune and St. Paul area. She graduated from McCune High School in 1969.

On April 19, 1974, Jeannie and Kenneth Beckwith were married in Galesburg. The couple lived in Galesburg until moving to Parsons in 2019. Kenneth survives of the home.

Jeannie worked at G.B. Manufacturing in Oswego and later at Bush Hog in Cherryvale. For several years, she worked at the Flesh Company in Parsons.

She was a member of the Shaw Christian Church in Shaw. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She also enjoyed yard work and cooking.

Her husband – Kenneth Beckwith, of the home

One son – Benjamin Beckwith and his wife, Jessica, of Parsons

Three grandchildren

Six brothers – Richard Shouse and his wife, Juanita, of Parsons

Dennis Shouse and his wife, Kathy, of McCune

Darrell Shouse and his wife, Marsha, of McCune

Terry Shouse of Parsons

Chris Shouse and his wife, Teresa, of Frontenac

Gary Shouse and his wife, Judy, of Parsons

Four sisters – Cheryl McClenning and her husband, Ron, of Parsons

Judy Butler and her husband, Joe, of Walnut

Jane Hastings and her husband, Bill, of Frontenac

Janet Leech and her husband, Pat, of Parsons

She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Beckwith; her parents; and an infant sister, Lila Marie Shouse.

No service has been planned.  Arrangements are under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
