Golda May Cramer

Golda May Cramer, 88, of Mound Valley, died at 8:30 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2015 at Labette Health in Parsons. She was born on May 27, 1926 at Garber, Oklahoma to Otto Meier and Clara (Hauser) Meier. She grew up and attended schools in Hunter, Oklahoma and was a graduate of Hunter High School. She and Charles A. Cramer were married on May 13, 1944 in Breckenridge, Oklahoma. In 1947, they moved to Mound Valley where they farmed for many years and raised their family. Mr. Cramer preceded her in death on July 26, 2014. After their children were raised, she began working at the Mound Valley Co-Op in Dennis. Later, she worked at the Labette County Farm Service Agency in Altamont until retiring after over 30 years of service. She had many hobbies including cooking, gardening, crocheting, sewing, playing cards, and fishing. Golda was an avid KU Jayhawk basketball fan and also St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities. She was a member of the Mound Valley Christian Church and also the Itchin' for Stitchin' Quilt Guild. Survivors include: Four Sons – Mike Cramer and companion Karen Taylor Mound Valley, KS Russell Cramer and wife Ruthie Booneville, MO Warren Cramer and wife Margerie Mound Valley, KS Mark Cramer and companion Jennifer Mound Valley, KS Twelve grandchildren, Twenty-six great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren Two Sisters- Vera Cramer Mound Valley, KS Norma Wilcox Enid, OK In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Charla Seager, on January 12, 2013; a granddaughter, Kassia Seager, on May 24, 2012; two brothers, Donald Meier and Ray Dean Meier; and one sister, Delores "Dee" Kitterman. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Mound Valley Christian Church. Burial will follow in Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the Mound Valley Christian Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mound Valley Christian Church.
