Gus Autem, 85, of Parsons, passed away at 10:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Elmhaven East Nursing Home.
Gus Eugene Autem was born on June 16, 1936, to Gus and Alice I. (Kelso) Autem., Jr. in McCune, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in McCune. Gus continued his education and earned a bachelor's degree from Pittsburg State University.
For most of his life, Gus was a farmer and raised livestock. He also worked at Dayton Superior from where he retired.
He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Reading, traveling and cars were some of Gus's interests. Listening to Country Music, especially piano and guitar, was another favorite pastime.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Pauline Autem, Colleen Mockten and Veda Autem.
A private family burial will take place at the McCune Cemetery.
