Helen M. Hoppock, 86, of rural Bartlett, passed away at 11:30 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2015 at Elm Haven East Nursing Home in Parsons.
She was born May 30, 1928 in Neodesha, Kansas to John and Hester (Wall) Forrester. She grew up and attended school in the Morehead, Kansas area and later graduated from Mound Valley High School.
On June 28, 1947, she and Richard Dale Hoppock were married in Oswego. Following marriage, they moved to the Bartlett area where they farmed and raised their family. He preceded her in death on August 12, 2008.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and gardening.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Hoppock and his wife, Georgia, Dearing, KS, and Randy Hoppock, Bartlett, KS; one daughter, Gayle Peoples and her husband, Jim, Altamont, KS; eleven grandchildren, Cindy Eads, Jenny Winters, Scott Shaw, Katelynn Cogen, Ross Hoppock, Chris Nelson, Tiffany Drummond, Brandy Hoppock, Ryan Hoppock, Steven Hoppock, and Christy Cibes; twelve great-grandchildren; and one sister, Maxine McWhirt, Omaha, NE.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, and one daughter, Cheryl Cibes.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Richland Cemetery near Angola. Friends may call at their convenience from 1-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
