Henry James Bussinger, 15, of rural Parsons, died Tuesday evening, March 25, 2014, from injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident near his home.
He was born July 20, 1998 in Manhattan, Kansas to Daniel L. and Lisa M. (Wells) Bussinger. As an infant, he moved with his family to Parsons where he attended Meadow View Grade School and was currently a sophomore at Labette County High School in Altamont.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and baseball and in high school had participated in SkillsUSA and Future Farmers of America. Henry was very mechanical and had planned to major in electronics while attending college.
Survivors include his parents, Daniel and Lisa Bussinger, of the home; two brothers, Isaac and Garrett Bussinger, of the home; paternal grandparents, Karen Taylor of Parsons, KS and Rick and Kathi Bussinger of Dennis, KS; maternal grandparents, Jim and Joyce Wells of Topeka, KS; maternal great-grandmother, Barbara Miller of Parsons, KS; aunts, Ali Bussinger and companion, Ryan Hollingsworth, of Wichita, KS, Crystal Middleton of Joplin, MO, and Sunny Zwahlen and husband, Jason, of Oswego, KS; and uncle, Jimmy Wells and wife, Francy, of Dover, KS.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Winston Taylor; maternal great-grandparents, Dale and Betty Wells; paternal great-grandparents, Richard and Dr. Kathleen Rice, Charlie and Irene Bussinger, Bill and JoAnn Chandler and Hazel Kuffler; and cousin, Lane Shadley.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
