Hilton J. Scheanette

Hilton J. "Poppa" Scheanette, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Oswego Health and Rehab in Oswego, Kansas.  He was only 71 years old.  His family is deeply saddened by his death.  Hilton was born on July 15, 1951.

Hilton had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile.  He was a private and quiet person, but also very witty and fun!  He was fearless and independent, yet sensitive and incredibly compassionate.  He loved fishing and hunting.  He will be forever missed.

His siblings – Emma Mae Elexandra of Jeanerette, Louisiana; Claudell Island of Rayville, Louisiana; Lenna Fuller of Rayville, Louisiana; and Sandra Collins of James Monroe, Louisiana

Six children – Tony Gordon of Pittsburg, California; Johnathan Bell of Monroe, Louisiana; Sharon Reynolds of Swapper, Louisiana; Sonya Scheanette of Fort Worth, Texas; Kelli Scheanette-Reynolds (Allen Reynolds, Sr.) of Fort Worth, Texas; and Courtney Scheanette of Parsons, Kansas

A host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

One special brother and dear friend – Roger Thompson of Parsons, Kansas

He was preceded in death by his father, James Lawrence; his mother, Annie Mae Wesley; two children, Hilton Gordon and Tangi Scheanette; two sisters, Louise Navy and Teresa Jones, and three brothers, Clifton Francis, Earl Scheanette and James Lawrence.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
