Howard E. Haile, 59, of Parsons, died Friday afternoon, April 20, 2007, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
He was born August 3, 1947, in Parsons to John and Florence (Johnson) Haile. He graduated from Parsons High School in 1966. He then joined the United States Navy and served for five and 1/2 years during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he returned to Parsons and began working for the former M-K-T Railroad now the Union Pacific Railroad. He was currently an engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his grandchildren and computers.
He was a member of Parsons Foursquare Church and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
He and Patsy M. Beard were married on December 9, 1966 in Fredonia, Kansas, she survives of the home.

Two Sons – Howard E. Haile, Jr. and his wife Nancy Manhattan, Kansas
Mike Haile and his wife Ruth Parsons
One daughter – Stephanie Mott Merriam, Kansas
Eight grandchildren - Amanda, Michael, Mitchell, Maranda, Kelsey, Brett, Brianna, Kendra.
One Sister – Kay Seeley Pittsburg, KS
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the Forbes Hoffman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with military honors given by the Brown-Bishop- Post #704 Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2007 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
