Ilse E. Farran, 94, of Galveston, Texas, and formerly of Parsons, Kansas, passed away at 1:18 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Concord Assisted Living in Galveston.
She was born February 9, 1922 in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany to Lawrence and Walburta Eberl. As a young girl, she grew up in Augsburg.
In 1945, she and Clarence R. "Joe" Farran were married. In 1950, the couple moved to the United States where they made their home and raised their family in Parsons, Kansas. Through the years, Ilse worked at the Kansas Ordnance Plant and later the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center until retiring.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and its Altar Society. For many years, she enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul Society.

Two Daughters – Renate Graham and her husband, Thomas Broken Arrow, OK
Beate Williams and her husband, Melvin Galveston, TX
Ten Grandchildren
Seventeen Great-Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence R. "Joe" Farran, on November 15, 2008; an infant son, Thomas Lee Farran; two grandsons, two brothers, and one sister.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
