Inez Louise "Granny" (Stine) Holland, 82, died January 3, 2007 at her home in Edna, Kansas. She was in failing health; however, death was unexpected.
She was born November 20, 1924 to Joseph Henry and Vesta Myrtle (Clark) Stine in rural Edna. She attended grade school at Rosehill School (east of Edna) and was a graduate of Edna High School.
On February 3, 1940, she and Ralph E. Holland were married in Pittsburg, Kansas. They made their home at the Windmore Ranch (east of Bartlett) until after the birth of their daughter, Loleta Ann. They then moved to the Holland homestead on Pumpkin Creek, rural Coffeyville, for ten years before moving to rural Edna and making their home for the next 38 years. They owned and operated a dairy farm until 1964. In 1984, the family moved to Edna where she was presently residing.
She worked for J.J. Newberry in Coffeyville, Lee Manufacturing Company in Cherryvale, Long Dairy Supply in Oswego and retired from the Bartlett Co-op in Edna in 1985 where she had worked as a bookkeeper for 19 years.
She was a member of the Edna Methodist Church; an active volunteer in her community and was known for her generosity at Christmas, often making as much as 100 pounds of candy for gifts. She also enjoyed crafts, cooking, canning, quilting and caring for others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Holland, in September 1989; a daughter, Loleta Ann Maxwell in 1987; her parents and a sister, Loleta DeHaven.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2007 at United Methodist Church in Edna. Burial will be in North Edna Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2007 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
