Iona Jo Nading

Iona Jo Nading 66, of Altamont, died at 11:40 p.m., Monday, December 7, 2009, at Labette Health in Parsons.


She was born June 22, 1943, in Yakima, Washington, to Charles D. "Charlie" and Iona "Elaine" (Christy) Nading. At the age of 1 ½, her family moved to Altamont where she attended schools and was a 1961 graduate of Labette County Community High School.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altamont. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Two Brothers – David Nading Lawton, OK
Doug Nading Independence, KS
One Sister – Charlotte Hall Parsons, KS
A Half-Brother – Richard Nading Sunnyside WA
Numerous Nieces and Nephews

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Nading, on May 9, 1989; and her mother, Elaine Nading, on December 21, 1972.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Altamont. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
