Ivan L. Lorimor

Ivan L. Lorimor, 86, of Parsons, went to be with the Lord at 8:40 p.m., Monday, October 1, 2018 after a lengthy illness of Parkinson's disease while residing at Elm Haven East Nursing Home in Parsons.

He was born February 7, 1932 in Belleville, Kansas to Walter Marion and Susie Salome (Bursch) Lorimor. Ivan served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Ivan was blessed with many talents and interests which led him to many different trades including a street car driver in San Francisco, California, worked on his cousin's farm in Bird City, Kansas, attended the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in Hutchinson and served as a law enforcement officer in Goodland, Kansas, drove a Pepsi truck, and purchased a farm in Belleville near his birth place. After retirement, the couple moved to Parsons in the early 2000's.

Ivan attended the First Christian Church in Parsons. He enjoyed dabbling in rental properties and especially loved gardening. He also served as a bail bondsman briefly and was a certified electrician.

He and Lydia Mae (Wolfe) Woodard were married September 20, 1965. She survives.

One Daughter – Elsie Woodard of Parsons, KS

Numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Parsons with Pastor Laurie Lewis officiating.

Ivan's church connection was very important to him. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church of Parsons or the Parsons Church of the Nazarene which they attended for many years.
