Jack L. Groff, 67, of Cherryvale, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at his home.

He was born November 26, 1950 in Parsons, Kansas to Fred C. and Myra M. (McLane) Groff. As a young boy, he grew up and attended Parsons Schools. In 1968, he graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont and later attended Pittsburg State University where he earned a Bachelor's degree.

After college, he worked at Princess Homes in Parsons until moving to Pompano Beach, Florida in 1975 where he worked as a fiberglass toolmaker and model maker. He later moved to Newton, Kansas and worked at Collins Industries in Hutchinson until moving to Cherryvale in 1994 where he worked at Charloma, Inc. until recently retiring.

He enjoyed fishing, remote control cars, and spending time with his dog, Little Bit.

Survivors include:

One Brother – Gerald Gene Groff of Pensacola, FL

Brother-in-law – Joe Dwyer of Parsons, KS

Nephew – Jarrett Groff of Grove, Oklahoma

Nieces – Karla Pauley of Grove, Oklahoma

Jane Lawrence and her husband, Tim, of Cottonwood Falls, KS and their children, Garrett, Geneva, and Kayleen

Jodi Ballard of Florida

Cousin – Marvin Groff of Grove, Oklahoma and his children, Dean Groff, Daneen Groff, and Deana Jones

Numerous other family members

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James E. Groff, in 1995; one sister, Judy K. Dwyer, on February 7, 2013; an uncle and aunt, Everett and Waunita Groff; and Marvin Groff's wife, Betty.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m., Monday, at the church prior to the service. Friends may also call at their convenience from 1-5:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.

Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick's Catholic School or masses may be requested in his memory at any Catholic church. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
