Jack G. Middleton, 84, of Parsons, died at 12:40 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2012, at Elm Haven West Nursing Home in Parsons.
He was born June 22, 1928, in Hallowell, Kansas, to Ralph and Goldie Gertrude (Koons) Middleton. He grew up and attended school in McCune where he was a graduate of McCune High School.
While serving in the United States Army for two years, he did surveying in Alaska. Upon his return to Southeast Kansas, he worked in sales at Gamble's Store and Montgomery Wards. He then worked in the Maintenance Department at Labette Community College until retiring.
He was a member of Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Parsons. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and camping.
He and Phyllis Rice were married August 23, 1953, at the First Baptist Church in Parsons. They later divorced.

Two Daughters – Peggy Gatewood and husband, James Parsons, KS
Christina Middleton Parsons, KS
Four Grandchildren – Megan Stoneberger, Alex Stoneberger, Jeremiah Middleton and April Middleton.
One Sister – Norma Tullis Sedalia, MO
He was preceded in death by one sister, June Woods.
Following cremation, graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
