Jack L. Moon, 90, of Oklahoma City, departed to his eternal home on Saturday, March 6, 2021, surrounded by his wife and family.
Jack Laverne Moon was born on October 19, 1930, to Robert Laverne and Irene Pearl (Canny) Moon in Mound Valley, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in southeast Kansas, graduating from Labette County Community High School in 1948. He then earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University. After serving as 1 st Lieutenant in the Air Force during the Korean War, Jack went on to serve his country in a civilian capacity, earning respect as an expert and inventor in a multitude of engineering fields, most prominently nuclear science.
As part of his deep and abiding faith in Christ, he served as Sunday school teacher, deacon and lay minister in various churches.
