Jack M. VanVickle, 82, of Parsons, died at 6:40 a.m., Wednesday,
August 22, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center. He had been in failing health.
He was born January 11, 1925 in Chanute, Kansas, to Donald and Etna VanVickle. He grew up and attended schools in Chanute. In 1960, he moved to Parsons and was employed as a film developer in the photo-processing department of Dwayne's Photo until his retirement.
In earlier years, he had his own airplane and enjoyed flying. He was also a Boy Scout troop leader. His hobby was photography.
He and Lois M. Garrett were married and later divorced.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2007, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience after noon Friday.
