Jack W. McGuire, 52, of Parsons, died at 5:28 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2012, in the Emergency Room at Labette Health. He had been in his usual health and death was not expected.
He was born October 14, 1960, in Los Angeles, California, to Linda Lu Blackburn. As a young boy, he moved with his family to Parsons where he grew up and attended school, and was raised by his grandmother, Marvelle Blackburn.
He previously worked at SEK Auto Sales before opening his own business, McGuire Small Engine Repair, which he operated until his death.
He loved his 1968 Chevrolet Camaro. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially dirt bikes and pit bikes, and in earlier years had raced dirt bikes. He especially enjoyed being with his family and friends and was very much a people-person.
He and Sherri D. Shrum were married May 18, 2006, in Parsons. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Dennis. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
