James C. Diediker

April 13, 1919 — September 10, 2008

James C. "Cliff" Diediker, 89, of rural Parsons, died at 4:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at Woodridge Estates in Parsons.

He was born April 13, 1919, in Meridian, Idaho, to John I. and Grace (Bryce) Diediker. As a child, he moved to Kansas with his family and was a graduate of Galesburg High School. He lived his entire adult life in rural Parsons where he farmed, raised cattle and horses.

He and Lois E. Milks were married October 10, 1941, in Parsons. She preceded him in death May 29, 2004.

He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, in Parsons, and a former member of the Parsons Saddle Club. He also served on the board of Rural Water District No. 4 several years. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He was known, and will be remembered, for his Will Rogers smile.

One Daughter – Judy Vitt and her husband, Jim Parsons, KS
Daughter-in-law – Carla Diediker Joplin, MO

Four Great-Great-Grandchildren
One Brother – Irwin Diediker Parsons, KS

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Donald, who died in 1986.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2008, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery north of Parsons. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
